MERRILL, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- The Rotary Emerging Leaders of Merrill and Park City Credit Union Young Professionals held their first annual gift-wrapping fundraiser.
The fundraiser was put on by the two groups to raise money for the Merrill Warming Shelter. The two groups wrapped presents at the Merrill Enrichment Center through Sunday. Rotary member Tricia Lazare told WAOW-TV that the fundraiser helped bring the Merrill community together for a good cause.
"Giving back to the community and providing these types of opportunities to help people with wrapping their gifts. But it brings a community together and giving back towards the Warming Shelter for such a good cause."
The groups have currently collected $800 to buy the Merrill Warming Shelter a new washer and dryer. Their goal is $1,600 and while they're no longer wrapping gifts at the Enrichment Center, you can still contact the Rotary Emerging Leaders of Merrill to donate.
