The male subject, 33-year-old Kurtis J. Wegner took the handgun barricade himself in a back bedroom with access to a revolver and ammunition. After 30 minutes of negotiation between the Marshfield Special Response Team Crisis Negotiators and officers, Wegner peacefully surrendered to law enforcement.
Wegner was taken into custody and awaits medical clearance before being transported to the Wood County Jail. He will be charged with a felony for possession of a firearm and going armed while intoxicated.
Wegner has a previous 2010 conviction for possession of a short-barreled shotgun.
