STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -- Police in Stevens Point are investigating two early-morning stabbing incidents which appear to be related.
The first happened at Polito's Pizza on Main Street at about 2:40 AM Sunday. The 24-year-old male victim suffered a life-threatening injury after being cut in the neck with an "edged weapon." He is currently in stable condition after being transported to a Stevens Point hospital.
About an hour later another stabbing was reported when a 33-year-old man came to St Michael's Hospital with a non-life-threatening stab injury. Police say that incident took place within the immediate proximity of Polito's, and the timeline remains consistent with the time the suspect fled the first incident.
Details of the second incident remain sketchy. Officers say the first incident was confrontational in nature. Both victims are from the Stevens Point area.
In both cases, the suspect is described as a white male in his 20's with a thin build and receding hairline. He was wearing camo pants with a brown hooded sweatshirt.
Police say the man has been identified and was taken into custody just after 12:30 PM. More information will be released later.
