MADISON, Wi (MetroSource-WSAU)  A study says the transition to renewable energy could result in over 160-thousand Wisconsin jobs.

A new University of Wisconsin study says overall production in the state could increase by almost 14-billion-dollars with the transition.  Wisconsin is known to have one of the largest "energy deficits" in the country as it has no significant fossil fuel deposits at its disposal.

The study suggests that more money would be able to remain in the state with the conversion of the electric power sector to in-state renewables like wind and solar energy.
