WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) -- A Wisconsin Rapids Middle School student claims she is the victim of an ongoing bullying incident.
According to posts published to Facebook, the unidentified student has been receiving handwritten notes in her pencil case. The notes have called the girl fat, ugly, and encouraged her to commit suicide.
It's unclear who put the notes in the girl's pencil case, but officials at the school say they are investigating the case.
USA Today Wisconsin reports the girl's parents say she has been taking the incident well and there's no indication that she is taking the harsh words to heart.
In the days since the posts have gone viral other parents in the Wisconsin Rapids School District have accused officials of not doing enough to stop bullying. District officials say they handle such incidents on a case-by-case basis. Punishment can range from a conversation with a teacher or counselor to expulsion.
